Welcome Our Newest Product Feature: The RibCap By Nico De Wilde

A NEW PRODUCT REVIEW BY THE ABLER BLOG

Background On The RibCap

The ribcap was brought to life by Mr. Nico De Wilde where he manufactures the ribcap in Europe.  Seeing a need for not only a better option for those who need to wear something out of necessity and protection because they may be at great risk of a head injury and or fall. but also a need to do so without making the person feel self-conscious and judged by others because of something as simple as head protection.

The Goal Of The RibCap

Mr. De Wides’ goal is to provide headwear that helps protect those in the diverse differently abled community from experiencing a serious injury to their heads. You may be asking yourself is it really necessary to provide assistance in this area at all. The answer to that is; is yes. Just like anyone can become disabled at any time in their life, Anyone can fall and cause serious trauma and or injury to themselves. According to the CDC, one out of five falls does cause serious injury to the person such as a broken bone or an injury to their head.

What Makes The RibCap Different From Other Productive Gear?

Unlike the current variety of headgear for those in need of head protection. The cap not only provides the same protection to the person in need of it; the ribcap also provides a more updated approach not only with the 3D technology used in making the ribcap more fashionable (picture above) than the past variety. The ribcap is made with a special kind of polyurethane foam that is not only made to protect your head from serious injury but is also breathable and forms to the person(s) head. Just like a specialized bed conforms to a body and provides support and comfort. The ribcap does something similar when the person(s) puts on the rib cap.

Another noticeable difference between typical headgear is that it is also fashionable while not screaming “made for a medical purpose.” This incidentally, was another goal That Mr. De Wilde had when you came up with the idea of the ribcap. The styles range from a baseball cap to a cozy-looking winter style. You can look at this short video to get a better idea of how accessible this cap is to just about anyone.

Because, let’s be honest if you have to wear something that you have no choice but to wear it, who wants to wear something that may draw unnecessary attention, and on top of that make you feel physically uncomfortable, and emotionally put them at risk of being bullied and further ostracized by their community. This could make the person not want to wear it at all. With an even greater possibility of a dangerous fall occurring. If you’re still unsure if the rib cap is the right way to protect yourself or someone you love from a serious head injury, you can look at these comments from qualified experts that personally witnessed just how helpful and useful this product is for our diverse and uniquely able community.
