Pop Evil Bass Player Matt DiRito is making a difference by giving others the ultimate star treatment.


I would like to personally thank Matt, for agreeing to do this interview with me. It was an absolute pleasure! Star Treatments is an amazing foundation. And I wish Matt nothing but the absolute best going forward with his work with Star Treatments in the future. Question One: For those that have never heard of Star Treatments before, can you tell us when it was founded and what prompted you to create it? Was it based on a personal experience or just out of a desire to help others in need?
Star Treatments was properly founded in November of 2014. It took quite some time to get up and running though, so for the first year or so we focused on fundraising and social media. By the time we were able to take our first family on the road, we had a good nest egg to work with. I came up with the idea for Star Treatments a few years prior to that after seeing a friend’s daughter go through the process of being diagnosed and receiving treatments.
Question Two: What is the overall process if someone would like to contact Star Treatments to request transportation?

 There is a form on our website that we ask everyone to fill out and submit. We have had inquiries through our
Facebook and other platforms as well, and we typically send them over to the web page. We have not had a family thus far who we have not been able to accommodate. The link to the request form can be found here.
Question Three: When you decided to start Star Treatments, who did you team up with on this new endeavor or did you use prior knowledge and connections to begin Star Treatments from scratch?
I really didn’t know the first thing about running a nonprofit organization! It's pretty interesting actually because the team of people that I work with just sort of started to “appear” in my life. As soon as my eyes were open to it, I began to see people with various talents who could help as we built this organization.
Question Four: Do you have any plans to expand Star Treatments in the future? Maybe teaming up with something like Ronald McDonald Housing to provide lodging for the kids and their families so they have the option of staying close by, especially when they aren't going home right after their treatments?
Most of the families that we work with already have ties in with the larger organizations like the one you mentioned. I really would like to expand though. I think eventually we can get enough traction to where we have our own fleet of vehicles, and staff of qualified volunteer drivers spread across the country and they can focus on moving more families.
Question Five: For those out there who want to become involved with Star Treatments, maybe donate their time or services to ST, how can they become more involved? Who can they contact directly? Where can you find ST on social media?
The best thing for our organization right now is just word of mouth. Spreading the word, showing people what it is that we are doing and how we are helping families across the United States.
